Job Description

The teacher will be responsible to the principal/director for the effective delivery of the teaching program to the required standard and in a professional manner. The main duties will include:

Delivery of the teaching program:

 Teach Maths, English, Verbal and Non-verbal Reasoning as required.

 Provide effective past exam paper practice, timing and technique.

 Teach elements of intensive courses as needed e.g. revision/mock exams.

 Carry out any pupil assessments as required.

 Assist/encourage individual children in understanding topics/explanations.

 Provide support to children with specific learning difficulties as needed.

 Check each child has completed/corrected all tasks from previous week.

 Check each child’s homework diary weekly.

Management of the teaching program:

 Maintain all teaching materials in an organised and responsible manner.

 Report any books/equipment needing to be replaced/updated.

 Discuss student’s progress/ potential with parents from time to time.

 Attend parent consultation meetings as needed.

 Attend and contribute to staff meetings.

 Liaise with your parallel teacher and other teaching/admin staff as needed.

 Keep a register of attendance for every session.

 Be prepared to cover an absent teacher during your usual teaching hours.

 Fulfil any other reasonable requests as required.
